Detailed information
The Early Career Ryll-Nardzewski Prize of €10,000 is sponsored by AMOTHO.
The prize is awarded for outstanding achievements in mathematics published after earning PhD in mathematics, with strong preference given to results not included in the doctoral thesis.
The basis for awarding the prize is an article, or a cohesive series of articles, published in mathematical journals and thematically related to the work of Czesław Ryll-Nardzewski — including but not limited to logic, descriptive set theory, probability, stochastic processes, functional analysis, harmonic analysis, measure theory, and ergodic theory.
The winner
The winner of the Early Career Ryll-Nardzewski Prize is Serhii Bardyla from University of Vienna. The prize was awarded in recognition of solving several difficult problems in general topology, set theory and algebra and his versatile research in these fields. Among the problems solved by the laureate are the problem of Sakai concerning the existence of a Cp(X) space which is a Pytkeev space but not a Frechet–Uryshon space, a long-standing problem of Gerlits and Nagy concerning the existence of delta-sets which are not gamma-sets, the problem of Tzannes concerning the existence of special rigid spaces.
