Detailed information

The Early Career Ryll-Nardzewski Prize of €10,000 is funded by AMOTHO.

The prize is awarded for outstanding achievements in mathematics published after earning PhD in mathematics, with strong preference given to results not included in the doctoral thesis.

The basis for awarding the prize is an article, or a cohesive series of articles, published in mathematical journals and thematically related to the work of Czesław Ryll-Nardzewski — including but not limited to logic, descriptive set theory, probability, stochastic processes, functional analysis, harmonic analysis, measure theory, and ergodic theory.

Applications for the prize should include the following:

  • Personal details of the candidate sufficient for clear identification and contact: full name, current affiliation, and email address;
  • Three letters of recommendation by individuals holding the title of professor or its equivalent;
  • A brief academic CV of the candidate, including any scientific awards or honors received;
  • A concise description of the result(s) forming the basis of the nomination, along with an explanation of their significance for the development of mathematics and their connection to the work of Czesław Ryll-Nardzewski. The description should address the relation between the achievements and the PhD thesis;
  • Copies of the article(s) containing the relevant results, or links to open-access versions of the publications;
  • Information on any awards received — or confirmation that none were received — for the nominated work;
  • Consent of the nominated person, which constitutes acceptance of these Regulations and a declaration of willingness to attend the award ceremony in Wrocław in September 2026 if selected;
  • GDPR Consent Form.

Nominations should be submitted electronically to crnec.prize@pwr.edu.pl as a zip file containing all necessary documents, no later than December 31, 2025.

The award ceremony will take place in September 2026 in Wrocław, Poland, as part of an international scientific conference, during which the winner will deliver the honorary Laureate's Lecture.

Full terms and conditions can be found in Regulations of the Competition for the Early Career Ryll-Nardzewski Prize.
