Date: 31.05.2023
On May 31, 2023, the Senate of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, upon the proposal of the Rector, Arkadiusz Wójs, established the Ryll-Nardzewski Center.
The initiative to establish the Center comes from a group of eight professors from the Faculty of Pure and Applied Mathematics, including the head of the Department of Pure Mathematics, Romuald Lenczewski, and the chairman of the Mathematics Discipline Council, Krzysztof Bogdan. The abbreviated name of the Center will be CRN (for Polish “Centrum Rylla-Nardzewskiego”), which (not coincidentally) corresponds to the initials of its patron. The eight-member “founders' committee” has been transformed into the Program Board of the Center, and Professor Tomasz Downarowicz has been appointed as its Director.
